Question by Matt: How can a soon-to-be college graduate make it into the advisory sector of a Big 4 consulting firm?
I’ve got a year left of college & want to get into advisory with one of the big 4 firms. I don’t have a CPA nor do I plan on getting one. What’s the best advice for getting a non-accounting (bus ops, process improvement, etc) job?
Also, what can I expect from the job in terms of hours, travel, and pay?

Just saw statistics today that only 20% of college grads get work in their field. The book, “What Color is Your Parachute” tells how to get a very good chance on getting into the firm you want. They say to researh it and learn all you can about that firm and the division you want to work in, how to get an interview with instead of Human Resources. Check it out.
